This year, we will be going to Camp Roosevelt in Eddington, ME, leaving around noon on Wednesday, August 9. Thursday will be spent in Acadia National Park, exploring all the park has to offer from hiking and biking trails to visiting Sandy Beach and enjoying the Atlantic Ocean. On Friday, we will be at Blackbeards USA to enjoy the miniature golf, batting cages, and go karts. This will be followed by bowling, dinner out, and a movie. Saturday will focus on advancement and program in camp, enjoying the natural beauty of Camp Roosevelt. We will return late in the day on Sunday, August 13.

Troop 23 was represented at the NE-2A Order of the Arrow Conclave held this past weekend at H.A. Moses Scout Reservation. The Conclave is annual event held at a different scout camp each year. Our very own Pocumtuc Lodge was the hosting lodge for this year’s event. More photos from the Conclave are available on MassLive.

Great Barrington Troop 23 had a training session at their June 7th meeting. Chris Byrne from SJG Emergency Response Training & Consulting was the instructor. We are happy to say all members are now CPR & AED certified! Great job!

Troop 23’s annual end of the year pool party and cook-out is June 14th starting at 6:00 pm. The location is the Eastview Pool (near Lake Mansfield). The Rotary Club will provide the food and the Scouts will provide the fun.
